A Child's Perspective:Polishing Off Juvenile Diabetes
Jimmy Day's Story
Hi, my name is Jimmy. I'm eight years old, and I've had juvenile diabetes most of my life. It's a disease that makes your pancreas not work and then you have to get shots of insulin. I have to get shots every day. My insulin is Humalog and Lantus.
The best thing about having juvenile diabetes is that I get a Mocha Frappuchino® when I have a doctor's appointment. I like them. I also like Cheetos, the color green, playing with my dog, riding my bike, and sports. When I grow up, I want to be a pro football player, pro baseball player, pro basketball player or a bus driver. Gym and recess are my favorite things at school because I get to play sports.
