A Child's Perspective:Polishing Off Juvenile Diabetes

Tymber Liebman's Story

Hi, my name is Tymber. I’m six years old and have juvenile diabetes. Diabetes is when a part of your body doesn’t work and you have to take shots of insulin to help you. The thing I hate most about having diabetes is the shots, but I just got my pump, so I don’t have to worry as much! I still hate pricking my finger because sometimes it hurts.

I love to color and play with Brylee, my little sister. I also like to play video games with my brother, go hunting with my brother and my dad, and snuggle with my mom and dad—and sometimes with my big sister. I also love to play soccer! When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian because I love animals, especially dogs!

I’m sure someone will find a cure for diabetes, probably me! I think I’ll find the cure with the money I raise for JDRF and also because I’m special.
