A Mother's Perspective: Polishing Off Juvenile Diabetes

Anything for a Friend

One of my very best friends from high school, Kelley, has had juvenile diabetes her entire life. She is a true inspiration to me, my family, and so many of our friends! She is now in her 40's, and has been through it all. In 1990, her mom gave her a kidney, and in 2000, she received a pancreas transplant. She is now awaiting another kidney transplant from her brother.

On October 8, 2006, her family and friends walked in Massachusetts, and we raised about $4,000 as a team. I am so proud that as a Silpada Representative, I can help her find a cure. Every time I sell a Silpada Polishing Cloth, I think of my friend Kelley, and how important this cause is. I'd do anything to help my friend find a cure.
